Using FAM for contraception
The fertility awareness method is a wonderful method of contraception. Studies have shown that FAM has an effectiveness rate of over 99% when all the rules are followed (same as most methods of artificial birth control). Once you learn how to pinpoint your fertile days and your ovulation, you can avoid having unprotected intercourse on those days, thus avoiding the possibility of pregnancy. Best of all, when you are not fertile, which is usually between 1/2 to 2/3 of your cycle, you can have intercourse completely naturally, with nothing between you and your partner. No latex, no spermicide, no hormones. (Unless of course you need to protect yourself or your partner against STDs).
Last but not least, because FAM is a natural system, it is entirely reversible if you decide that you do want to become pregnant. There are no possible side effects like that of most of the birth control methods and drugs on the market.
FAM is unique in that it is the only contraception method that:

- uses no chemicals or devices
- can be practiced in accordance with the moral beliefs of adherents of all major religions
- can also be used to conceive a child
- can help a woman gauge her gynecological help
- can potentially help identify the cause(s) of infertility
